Smithtown Winter STEAM

Exploration In The Mitten Challenge, young scientists test thermal insulation by designing a

mitten for ice cubes to discover which materials keep them frozen the longest. Little architects

will build a Sugar Cube Igloo and decorate with icing. Students also create a Winter Snow Globe

with a winter scenery with swirling snow.. Finally, budding engineers build Waterproof Rafts

from recycled materials to test if their designs can safely transport an Arctic animal

across the water.
