All-American Eats: A Culinary Adventure invites students to enjoy a hands-on exploration of American summer cuisine through a fun and flavorful mix of baked and no-bake recipes inspired by classic home-style favorites and fairground treats. Throughout the program, budding chefs will create sweet and savory dishes such as mini desserts, creative snacks, and carnival-inspired treats while learning basic cooking techniques, safe kitchen practices, and creative food presentation. With themed activities, collaborative challenges, and taste-testing fun, students build confidence in the kitchen and discover the colorful, playful world of American summer and fair-style cooking. -
Smithtown Summer Build & Thrill STEM
Build & Thrill is a hands-on Summer STEM enrichment course where students become amusement park engineers, designing and building attractions through engaging, classroom-based STEM activities. Using roller coasters as a central focus, students explore concepts such as gravity, speed, energy, and motion by creating and testing model coasters, while additional challenges include designing Ferris wheels, spinning rides, and other theme park attractions. Through collaborative design, problem-solving, and real-world engineering challenges, students apply science, math, and critical thinking skills as they imagine, build, and refine their own amusement park ideas. -

Summer at the Circus is a creative fine arts enrichment course where students explore the excitement of the circus through hands-on drawing, painting, and sculpting. Inspired by classic American circuses, students create colorful artwork featuring playful characters, dynamic scenes, and circus animals while learning foundational art concepts and experimenting with a variety of materials. -
Smithtown Summer Stars, Stripes & Showtunes
Join Great Hollow’s Mr. MacCarthy for this summer’s Stars, Stripes & Showtunes theater & musical. This two-week Broadway-style musical theater program celebrating America’s 250th birthday through songs, scenes, and storytelling inspired by iconic American musical theater traditions. The curriculum draws thematic inspiration from well-known Broadway productions such as Annie, The Greatest Showman, and Newsies using age-appropriate material to explore ideas of independence, resilience, civic pride, and the American spirit. Students build foundational skills in acting, singing, and movement while working collaboratively in ensemble groups and learning essential stagecraft and performance etiquette. Instruction emphasizes creative expression, confidence-building, and understanding how musical theater can reflect important moments and values in American history. The program culminates in an informal, high-energy showcase for families at the end of the two weeks, featuring a patriotic Broadway-style medley that highlights original arrangements and educational performance pieces inspired by American musical theater. This engaging enrichment experience fosters creativity, teamwork, and an appreciation for both the performing arts and America’s historical legacy. -
Smithtown Summer Robotics
Incoming Grades 6th and 7th: Discover, Explore and Compete in a First LEGO League Challenge! First Lego League will enhance coding skills as well as robotic engineering and design through hands on STEM learning opportunities. The program is geared towards strengthening real-world problem solving skills. Students will understand the basics of STEM and apply their skills in an exciting robotics competition. The class culminates with a competition where teams have their robots compete in a series of challenging tasks in a limited time. Incoming Grades 8th and 9th: This class is designed for students interested and eager to learn about the Smithtown Robotics Program. It will allow students to become familiar with the robotic engineering process while strengthening the foundational skills necessary for future robotics and coding experiences. Students will use VEX and LEGO Spike robotics programs to design, build, and test robots for specific tasks. It will enhance coding skills as well as robotic engineering and design through hands-on STEM learning opportunities. Students show off their skills in a culminating robotics competition where teams have their robots complete a series of real-world challenges. -

Smithtown Summer Academics & Getting Ready for Kindergarten
SCOPE Summer Academics & STEAM: Summer Fun with Academics and STEAM workshops is a one-week enrichment program that strengthens reading, writing, and math through engaging, hands-on instruction. Students are grouped by the grade level they are entering; Getting Ready for Kindergarten, First Grade, Grades 2–3, and Grades 4–6—and learn through research-based approaches including the Science of Reading, Writer’s Workshop, and foundational math strategies. The program builds skills, confidence, and readiness for the next school year while preventing the summer slide.
